It's been quite a while since I blogged, but since it's a new year, I'm going to try and stay current! New year, new things!
I know that everyone is excited about the new year and making all kinds of plans to "do better" this year and so am I. The one thing I want us to remember is to clean up that 2015 mess you didn't quite finish with. Don't just sweep it under the rug or throw the baby out with the bath water, but fix it, if you can. That makes moving on to new things in the new year a whole lot easier.
Strive to treat each other good. Take a moment to call that friend you' haven't talked to in a while or call that relative, not to ask for something, but just to say hello, how are you. You will be amazed at how much it will make their day.
As you move on to bigger and better things this year, remember, don't sweat the small stuff and don't stress! Each day is blank sheet of paper to continue yesterday or start fresh today!
Be inspired ladies!

Well the month of" love" and black history is winding down. Is it a coincidence that both things are in the shortest month of the year? And do we need a designated day in a month to show the person or persons that you love, how much you love them? I sure hope not.
Love is something that we should show all year long. I suffered a tragedy last month when my house burned and I lost almost all of my worldly possessions. While it has been an awful thing to happen, it has been very enlightening to me on several levels. I already knew how wonderfully supportive, loving and caring the ladies of BPW are, however, through this horrible event, they have proved it yet again.. What is really surprising and baffling is the feet dragging and loop-holing practices of the insurance companies. You pay your premium each month, and then when you dare to need to use it , you are hit with all kind of surprises and fine print. Not nice, insurance companies, not nice.
Losing everything you own, makes you appreciate even more the things you have left and are blessed with, starting with your life. I still have my loving husband, beautiful children and wonderful grandchildren and that is most important. Physical things can be replaced. Family and friends can not. So, I am here! Loving life and thanking God for each and every day! Join me! Be inspired ladies!

2012. Where did the year go? The holidays are upon us and we are barreling headfirst into 2013! As you put the brakes on and stop to take a look at 2012, make a list of things you want to do next year, but most importantly, make a list of things you DON'T want to do again, ever. A lot of things that happen to us happen because we enable or allow these things to happen. So what do we have to do?. Change the action. Change the profile. Change the outcome. Change is hard, but sometimes very necessary.
We all have heard the old adage about the definition of insanity, blah, blah, blah. Then stop being insane! This is a new day, a new month and a new year. Do something different!
